Thought I wouldn't catch the last of the rays today to add for the photo challenge. Yesterday evening we missed the sunset because D actually went to bed at 8:30pm!! Well, we went in to sleep and was out by 8:50pm!! Last two days have been slowly waking her up by 7:38am to get her used to that time once school starts.

This evening N was able to take her in and I almost missed it!! I just love how we can watch the sunset from our apartment window anytime of the year! (The angle of where it sets changes during the different seasons)

Day 12: Sunset
Day 12: Sunset

D is in the 1% on the growth charts. So, once in a while, we get comments about her petiteness from random strangers. Some try to give me reassurance, as if I am upset over it; some declare of course since I am petite, it makes sense; some just acknowledge she is small for her age but kids come in all sizes. Many just give an awkward pause before moving on to the next topic.

Yesterday, I got the strangest comment from a mom and she was addressing D with it. "You are tiny! It's great since you are a girl! Keep it up!" First, am not sure where she is coming from but really, you say that to strangers?! And especially to a little girl?? WTF! I don't think I reacted. Am too polite really. But it was out there!

went to the gym again today while N came home for lunch. I just weighed myself after over a month - mostly to see D's weight. She is a healthy 15ish pounds (it doesn't show ounces). As for me, I am lighter than even my prepregnancy weight. But what is this pouch doing around my waistline? My hips feel like they are 1.5 times the size. I guess I should focus on toning exercises more as well. And also come to accept that my body will look different now.

I am not sure why i was thinking i put on weight... i sure feel like i did though...

anyhow, D loves when i do yoga poses with her and in front of her. She thinks it's hilarious!! before she starts crawling want to make it to a class just to see if i am doing things well. With one income, we really need to watch our spending. So, am splurging on an awesome haircut! I am planning to chop it all off. I am sick of the ponytail and half my hair has fallen out. looks sick really. sigh.

I went to a doctor this morning for a checkup and I just loved the assistant who takes your weight and blood pressure. Alice was her name. She was awesome. Okay, she complimented me that I don't look a day over 20 and remarked how little I am as I weighed in their old-fashioned scale where she had to shift the weight (what is this type of machine called, anyone know?)! In a world obsessed with image and weight I do forget that I am little albeit out of shape (literally). But I am little. :D I like reminders like that...

I watched Bride Wars yesterday. A movie I know N won't like and I just wanted to watch a mindless movie. Well, it was excellent for a mindless movie alright. I guess I am not a big fan of extravagant weddings and so didn't really get attached to the characters much and just thought the whole thing was silly. Did laugh here and there but yeah. The friend who suggested this also suggested the Confessions of a Shopaholic - I think I will pass on that too. RedBox is just so cool. Of course, that comes in after the public library that has all the recent releases... you just have to wait in a virtual queue for quite some time if the movie was a huge hit!

I have been making yummy salads for lunches the last two days. Hubby has been rather amusing. Before his trip, I warned him to stay away from salads as one can't be too sure of the water. His answer, "why would I have salads outside when you make the best ones?!" cute and smart.
