Went to the Subway by our office today to get lunch. There was a homeless guy who was asking for money in front of the door. I guess he got enough to get a sub. As he entered, one of the patrons gave her gift card that had a balance for him to use. It made his day! It's understandable that he probably hasn't been in a Subway in a while and so took some time to figure out what he wanted. It being peak lunch hour, the next customer's order was taken. And as your sandwich goes down an assembly line of people who fill up your sandwich with all the stuff you want, there was a little mix-up with his order (he jumped back in queue behind me). Anyway, they figured it out. In the midst, the lady who gave him her gift card came up from her seat and told the one attending to him at that moment not to be rude to the homeless man in such a rude way and walked back to her seat! The guy politely but loud enough for her to hear (she was on the other side of the restaurant) that he was not being rude. He really wasn't. what a hypocrite really.
Another homeless dude sitting on a bench thought he could earn a lunch by yelling at me, "bitch, buy me lunch!" right...
Why is that walking to the metro from home and then from metro to the office in the morning feels a little bit longer than in the evening when I walk back to the metro and then home! ;)
The sun is setting a bit earlier now... sigh...
