Some would think all the hopping about in the Southwest would have been the end of our trip. But, no, it was just half of our whole trip. We then hopped on another Southwest Airline plane and flew North East to Buffalo, New York, which is about an hour's drive to Niagara Falls! What a contrast in scenery that was!

I always pictured cacti being a few in the desert. One lonesome one with maybe one or two surrounding it. But overall, dry plains with cacti spread out at a greater distance. I stand corrected. It looks more like a forest and instead of trees, there were cacti everywhere one could see!

We got up very early. We got up at 5am and were out at the Mather point by 5:30am. By 6am the crowds started filling in. But that didn't distract us from the magnificent view that was to unfold in front of us. Slowly but surely the canyon revealed itself leaving each one of us spellbound at its beauty.

We snapped a few pictures. But really no camera will do justice for the beauty and grandeur of the place. You find yourself thanking Teddy Roosevelt for his long-term vision in preserving this park.
