Last week, Thursday, D spotted the two candidates on the front page of the newspaper and she followed it with an eye roll and resignation-look: "When will the elections be over and Hillary Clinton win?! Why is Trump still here?!"

And that comes from a 6.5yo. And I am so with her!

Can you guys prepone* your elections (the USA) and be done with it, please? Pretty please, with a cherry on top?! I am so emotionally exhausted. I can't even shut it out. Campaigning should not be allowed to go on for over a year! Next time, propose that each candidate submit a thesis with some standards. It has to be something that can be published and verified. And even if I went back to where I came from, we wouldn't be able to escape, you know?!

Why do we let this happen?! It's a terrible thing for anyone's mental health!

The last straw, is Rudy Giuliani's rant about Trump being better than Clinton because one is a man and the other a woman. I tried to look at it in context and I am done. I am emotionally done. How do all of you cope?!

* yes yes. I know - not the Queen's English nor American English or any other English. It's Indian English for the opposite of postpone! ;)

woo hooooo!! My daughter woke up and brought in the newspaper and she was asking me why Clinton had such a big smile on her face? Maybe she noticed a little more joy in the face? No idea. It felt so wonderful to share the results with her. For those who are new, it was some time ago, where she truly believed she needed to become a boy to be US President and she was convinced she would have to move to India to be the PM (when I shared with her Indira Gandhi was my country's first PM and then we had Sonia Gandhi - who is a foreigner as head of a major party (she nominated Manmohan Singh to the post - which itself was historic for India!). She had brought home a book that explained how/what roles US Presidents play - and all she saw were men. So, she was convinced!

So, just for that, am happy! Guess now the battle begins.

For the record, our county wasn't responsible to give a majority vote to Donald Trump! We did to Rubio instead. It seems most of NoVA did. phew. It's good to know where you live and the people who surround you. But at state level, Trump & Rubio were almost same (percentage wise).  On the other side majority of the votes went to Clinton (was a 60% to Clinton & 40% to Sanders on average) - same state wide.

Glass half full
I am going to try. Three days and every time I read anything regarding elections and politics I find myself shutting my ears and screaming in my head like a child *na na nananna...I can't hear you!* and skipping over the whole article and skipping over all my thoughts. Until the day comes that I can vote, I am going to do that.

aaaaaaaahhh....

So, America, enjoy your elections. I am going to drink my wine and enjoy watching cat videos online or somehow find entertainment in my 5 year old's meltdowns over how unfair life is and how N&I are all out to get her. oh wait.

I might need to stick my head in sand to help...

When I heard that, I completely switched over! He's got my vote, if I could vote. Wow...finally someone I can agree with. Where has he been all this time?

oh wait... he is talking about Christians being persecuted? Really? Are we living in the same country? Or does our definition of persecution differ? hmmm... let me go find the dictionary. Clearly, my English is poor, being my second language and all.

OK... never mind. You can go back to your regular activities.
