Happy Sankranti!

smittenbyuYay! Last three days were Sankranti! Each day marks celebrating a different aspect of life and nature! We didn't do all the rituals. But we made kites!
Sankranti is our solar new year! It's harvest time (of rice & sugar cane)! Also end of winter and starting of spring (I think there's another festival to mark this officially)! So, great time for kites!
D had picked up some random sticks from the playground last week. So, we made kites the way we did growing up. Newspaper (which she got to paint) and sticks and tape (we used string to tie up the ends though)!
