music on my mind

smittenbyuI think it was yesterday that Bon Jovi released their most recent album! I was so very excited!! It's the only band that still leaves me giggling and screaming away like a little teenage fanatic girl! And to all who think they are old or whatever, please keep that to yourselves! :P For whatever reasons, that's usually people's first reaction to when I mention the name Bon Jovi! I wish I could be rocking away like them at their age! And Jon Bonjovi's smile never ages! sigh *heart melts*
It's been a long time since I bought a music CD. I don't even remember what my last purchase was! So, when the thought of going out and buying the album came, I was stumped. I didn't know where the closest music store was! Do they even have those places anymore after the advent of iPods?!
I remember the days of yesteryears/decade when I would try and listen to whatever music I could to get a taste of variety of music! Since, I couldn't afford to buy CDs/cassettes of every artist I liked, I would actually record hours of radio music and "cut & paste" the songs that I liked and made my own cassettes!! Then slowly I "upgraded" to buying CD albums. And then entered the world of Napster.
And then the interest just died. The music I have now is stuck in 2002 (me thinks). Occasionally you will find me turning on the radio, at home or on the internet. Forget catching a music video on MTV, I think they have discarded "Music" from their station! And occasionally I get to "enjoy" the music of fellow DC drivers who blare their music with their windows open!
How interests change... But my project now is to find a music shop and sample the album! I really wish I made an attempt to go watch the free performance they gave last year in NYC Central Park! sigh.... A great band to see in concert I hear! I probably lose my voice screaming more than listening to their music! hahahah..... drools away...

Date: 2009-11-16 05:25 pm (UTC)Interest in music never died inside me. I have collections from as old as 40s and 50s to as recent as yesterday. It keeps playing 24/7 in my home, car, at work. I dont think I can live a day without listening to at least one song.
