back in Rio

After a good night's rest, we spent Monday figuring out the luggage thing. We were still waiting for that other person to call and drop off the luggage. Anyhow, nothing much we could do, so we took a bus and then to the metro to head on to downtown Rio.


We got off one of the stations and found Gandhi's statue amidst the morning traffic.


I think this was City Hall. Not sure...but the paintings and the sculptures showing the history of Brazil - from the days of slavery, Portuguese invasion, etc. The statues were so well done.
