the feeling here after a nice hot bath as compared to the feeling of still sitting in the shower even after towel-dry. Even as the clouds lay low & thick with threats of rain it is nowhere close to the level of humidity we experienced on a daily basis in KL. Of course, we are quite far from the equator.
But now we are on the other end. It's so dry that my tear ducts dry up and my eyes get so dry. I wish I can cry just to keep them moist! Any suggestions?
Wedding shopping is mostly completed. It took us 2 whole days to buy the gifts & dresses we want to buy! It's a record amongst our family & friends. But that's how we are. A youngster, parents' friend's to-be daughter-in-law had come by yesterday with the friends and were looking through our purchases. I had shared with her how some aunts were telling us we needed to go to Kanchipuram to get sarees they are so well known for (can see pictures of sarees here). It would be cheaper if buying in bulk as one would get rid of all the middlemen. She also wondered why we didn't, since there was so much time?! hmmmm this young lady didn't understand the V's family of living. Chickpet is as far and deep as we will go.
Then came the subject of wearing ghagra & choli for the reception. She suggested that I go to Hyderabad for shopping as the variety is more & prices are better! She kept insisting why we wouldn't as there still is lot of time.
People really don't get us! :P We will go to shops that close friends & family have recommended and go there and buy. Whatever money we might save by going to these other cities will be spent in transportation. There was a time people made these trips cause the items were not available or the shops were not trustable to be selling the real thing.
oh but I would go to Hyderabad to go have some chukka aku pappu (a leafy vegetable that is a bit sour, and i like it in dal)! yum... Last time I have eaten that was back in 1999, last time I was in Hyderabad! :-S But please don't ask me to travel to go shopping!
