D has written a note to the tooth fairy. Reality is she is tired of waiting for her tooth to fall off. The most popular girl in class has lost 3 teeth or maybe even 4 since the begining of school year. She is 6 years old. So, obviously there has been a lot of talk about tooth fairies. I think one or two other kids who also turned 6 lost their first teeth. D is feeling left out. For the last month she kept asking me to feel if any of her teeth are wobbly. Nope. Not budging, not one bit.

But a few weeks ago I noticed one of her molars came out!! And another one is getting ready to break skin!! So, she is excited and has shared the news with everyone! So, she wrote a note to the tooth fairy to inform her that her molars have come out and now she is almost a grown up! I am going to keep that note!! sigh.

Exactly. We're going back in time, to the wild wild west (except, apparently, gun laws were even stricter back then).

Hehe, T doesn't know about the tooth fairy yet... I think. T hasn't lost any teeth yet, and I'm glad!!!! Seems kind of traumatizing to lose them really young. Maybe that's why there are those tooth fairy stories, to get kids excited.

All this "everyone should have a gun" is such obvious bullsh*it that I wonder why people still say it and not everyone around is laughing out loud. Isn't it obvious that the general availability of guns all around is the main reason the US has so many shootings?

If you don't hand out guns over the counter at Walmart, then it's much harder to get a working and well-maintained gun if you're a crook. 99.9% of all teenagers in Germany have never even seen a gun up close, let alone know how to get one. If you can't get a gun you can fantasize about shooting your teacher and classmates but you can never do it. A kitchen knife is the worst that's available to you.

Writing to the tooth fairy that she is almost grown-up is SO cute! And you can tease her with that as a teen. It will be sooo embarrassing *g*

Thanks for sharing that article. I agree with it, too. Relying on "good guys with guns" guarantees that there will likely always be at least one victim, since the "good guys" can't respond until the initial shooter has fired his gun.
