Apparently the ataulfo is a variation of Manila mangoes... there are so many varieties! The funny thing though in Malaysia, we would get the Manila ones and I didn't like them. Maybe I am settling with the Ataulfo since compared to the others it's the closest I can get to what I grew up with! :) There was one we got, "Marathon" farms that are claimed to be the best (for Indian tongues). I feel they taste so watered down. I imagine the soil and so much more would also make a difference!
