Air France plane missing

We took an airport shuttle from the motel we stayed at in Miami. Along with us were two young friends, speaking French and on their way to Brazil. They got off at the Air France check-in area. I am not sure how long they will be in Brazil before heading back to France, I'd imagine they would still be there...and not on the flight that is lost somewhere in the Atlantic. I hope it is still flying somewhere and lands safely!
