smittenbyuI have found so often, even people I know, run stop signs like it's not even there. When I speak up, they just brush it off saying it's Malaysia, it's ok! I have encountered so many people who just make turns at any junction (without a traffic light) without even stopping to see if there's an oncoming car or not. It's just amazes me how lucky they get that it happens there is no car that's in their way. It seems to have increased since last November, at least on the stretch I frequent. These people have become bullies.
I can't for the life of me run a stop sign intentionally! It just doesn't happen. I have even tried telling myself, "oh this one (that is so commonly ignored) is almost traffic free"...but no..I stop. And I swear people who use the very busy roundabout by our place have forgotten their rules to a point where people stop out of fear of the other idiot and in turn causing more traffic than normal! Even at the junction by my place, people going on the main road stop in the fear of the idiots who turn in thinking they own the road!
I really have begun to believe that people should take up a refresher written test every 5-7 years that they renew their license! Especially, when there's a whole previous generation (heck, those who are two-three years older than me) who boast to have paid off to get their licenses! A car might be trendy, but it's a killing machine when used by idiots who care nothing but themselves. But then again, if they even cared about themselves they would take better care! A city of just 2 million people can behave a bit more civilised. There's no necessity to rush like madcows. But lets not insult the cows.
