So, the Valentine's Day craze has begun...at school. By some time next week D has to make 16 cards for her friends. Last year she handmade 20 of them herself (she included her teachers and the school Director, and two other moms). I wonder what she will do this year. I refuse to buy cards on the occasion. Plus it's a fun project.

Anyway, they have been cutting heart-shapes out of everything. It's all a heart theme. Yesterday evening, while D & I were having dinner, N brought home a few flyers about women & heart disease. It's Go Red for Women Day I think I like their Fresh-fruit sangria recipe, just missing the wine. She of course, asked what it was about. And we shared that we all have to take care of our hearts and why we need them. She had just learnt in her "science" class about organs and their jobs. So, she said to pump blood. So today we all wear red to help share the information, to help women better care for themselves and their heart. Sometimes they are so busy, they forget!

N was searching high and low for a red shirt in his wardrobe. I teased him. He has a bright yellow shirt, a pink shirt and all the other colors in the rainbow except red! he he... He went with a maroonish-red shirt.

At school, when everyone comes in they put things away, wash hands, morning writing/drawing activity is given and then they do a morning question they answer before sitting for circle time. So, this morning question was, "why do you celebrate Valetine's Day?" D was so excited about the question!!

Her response, "so, women can protect and take care of their heart!"
