making no sense or cultural differences?
Nov. 30th, 2007 02:02 pmThis morning as hubby was getting ready for office and I had finished preparing breakfast - making tea, getting the cereal bowls out, warm up milk and setup the cereal boxes so he can choose what he would like! oh don't forget the spoons! Usually I will turn on the TV to check the weather for the day. The weather channel amazes me! They predict down to a week from now. Anyone who has taken Geology 100 would know that a 7 day forecast is rather shaky. But hey... it's fun nonetheless. They offer the Day Planner that will estimate what the temperatures will be during the course of the day, etc. After living in a country where the daily forecast went as: "humid, hot, expect thunderstorms in the afternoon" to see the low pressure move this way and the high pressure move that way across the US map and causing havoc or bring warmth is just so much fun! ok...am easily amused! And I am amused now because there's no snow predictions! :P
But that's not the reason for this post. I then changed the channel to see if I can catch some news. oh dear. I believe I will stick to BBC online. I believe it was Fox morning show where they had a panel of hosts and some actress as a guest to host the morning news. They were talking about some war on Christmas. Why is everything a war in this country?? But I digress again. There seems to be somewhere in the US where the community welcomes atheists to also put up their own trees with their own things. So instead of bringing everything down, it was a way they incorporated everyone. So, on key, one host asked the other what they would hang up. The second host responded with things like books, strings, the Koran, etc. huh?! Why would an atheist put up a Koran? Last I heard it was a highly coveted religious book. Maybe the atheists were confused, or more obviously the host is confused. Or could it be as some strange way to show defiance to Christianity, I wonder. hmmmm....
With that I turned off the TV baffled and confused and carried on with breakfast with hubby!
