I am tired of all the wedding talk. Every conversation encompasses something about the wedding preparation. I want one day where we just be. Today was one day we didn't do anything wedding related. Oh but wait, I did the invitation cards! This weekend will be spent writing up addresses on the invitation cards! This actually I don't mind. What I am completely over is the jewelry shopping! I can't quite understand the craze. A little is nice, but the push behind is beyond comprehension.

When I say jewelry I am talking about the big stuff - gold & that league. They say it's for long term investment. Ok, then buy solid gold. Not gold with all kinds of stuff embedded in it. And now the big push is on diamonds. :-S Now that's just much. Then they sell the ziconium (whatever spelling) that's like 1/10th of the price & looks like diamonds. What sense does that make?! It's amazing and sad how gullible we are to marketing drives even if it's at the cost of human lives & rights. Of course, many will claim ignorance. The shop I had gotten the minimum jewelry to wear, the shopkeeper and her assistants couldn't understand. I will surely get scolded at the wedding day. My parents will be mocked on the day for having such little gold - so they say! Well, dad & I don't mind being mocked for this reason. The shopkeeper finally gave up and asked what I have so much against diamonds. She asked a few times and I avoided the question. But finally I replied, it just costs too many lives & have heard too many sad stories from Botwanan friends for me to find anything attractive in it.

Silence ensued in the shop for about 2 minutes and life went on as usual. And my silence will ensue until I can find something non-wedding related topic to write about!
