a new home

130 boxes arrived on two trucks with 8 men & 1 supervisor yesterday. Every box has been emptied. Some have made them into the shelves shown and many emptied on to the beds. The beds were cleared yesterday.  And by the end of the night four of us sat exhausted with aching backs and aching feet. 

As we sat about contemplating the number of things that are filling up the house, it sank in that we have really moved and are not here just on vacation as we often felt in the last two weeks we have been here. 

The house is looking like a home with familiar things to make it homely. We have discovered so many things things we forgot we had adding both to dismay that we have accumulated so much and yet at the same time remembering the many memories associated with each item. The home is truly filled with over 30 years of wonderful memories of times & people in Hyderabad, Brazil, Rome, Singapore, Malaysia, Hawai'i & Melbourne and the many travels in those times. 

It makes us happy to have met so many wonderful people over time, and sad to have had to let go of so many. But each of them has left a mark in this home for as long as we remember them.
