Jun. 19th, 2007 05:12 pmWhen I first got here four years ago, the only means for me to get around were buses, trains and taxis. Taxis being fairly cheap (comparitively), they became rather the mode of way to go. I only got my driver's license in Oct 2003. During the time before my license, and dependence was on public transport, I would often meet locals who would comment on how hard it was to get taxis and the trouble it was. I often wondered how they came to this conclusion. I thought maybe they live in places that is not central like I do, which makes sense and their comment understandable.
And just the other day I caught myself saying, "oh it's very difficult getting taxis." And realised that the last time I actually took one was maybe a year ago, if not longer!! Now I understand why they made the statement they made. And it has nothing to do with where one lives. hehehe.. it just is the way it is.
