I always pictured cacti being a few in the desert. One lonesome one with maybe one or two surrounding it. But overall, dry plains with cacti spread out at a greater distance. I stand corrected. It looks more like a forest and instead of trees, there were cacti everywhere one could see!

We slept in for the first time in the week. Had a leisurely breakfast and took our time in getting ready. Got our laundry done. It felt like we were home. Around 11ish, we started heading out to Old Tucson Studios. Had a good time! It was a sunny hot day but not too bad!

We had a great time watching the various performance and seeing the place where some of the movies we so fondly watched were filmed.

The guided tours were good and the shows were entertaining! Had a great laugh!

One thing we really enjoyed in the Southwest were the many cloud formations! We all took a hundred pictures of just clouds!!! ;)

We then headed to a restaurant called Sweet Tomatoes for lunch. Really great concept at a reasonable price! It would be nice if they had something like that here!
We then headed to a state park (i think it was) surrounding ourselves with cacti to watch the sunset! It was a nice hike up. We didn't do the whole trail, as the trail goes all the way over the mountain ridges! I have never since such tall cacti!!

The younger bunch!

The sunset apparently was not as spectacular as the ones they usually experience! I don't know it was beautiful in my books! I kept inserting that you will see spectacular sunsets in Hawai'i to my hubby. ;)

We had a nice home cooked meal with some of other friends who joined in and we relaxed at home! And that would bring our trip to the Southwest to an end. It was sad to leave it.
I truly enjoyed it! I can see why people have gotten attached to the place so much. I, however, am not sure if I could live there. One thing that really got to me was the fine dust in the air at all times - afterall, it's a desert and so it didn't help with my allergies! But otherwise what a beautiful place to stay!
